Linda Dickey
Linda Dickey, 64 of Paris, passed away on Thursday, Sept. 11, 2008 at Audrain Medical Center in Mexico.
Private graveside services will be held on Sunday. Visitation will be held on Saturday at Agnew Funeral Home from 5 to 8 p.m.
Mrs. Dickey was born on March 16, 1944 in Macon, the daughter of William Coleman and Nellie Meadows Elliott. She graduated from Mexico High School in 1962 and attended the University of Missouri. She married Donald Dickey on April 26, 1963 in Springfield. He survives at home. Other survivors include her mother, Nellie Elliott of Mexico; a son and daughter-in-law, Jeff and Mary Dickey of Paris; two granddaughters, Shelby Kaye and Courtney Ann Dickey; one sister, Martha Davis of Mexico; and one niece, Sandra Platte. She was preceded in death by her father, William Coleman Elliott, who passed away on Feb. 11, 2006.
She worked on the farm with her husband, driving grain trucks, moving equipment and taking food to the field.

Althea L. Fecht
Althea L. Fecht, 93 of Mexico, died Thursday, Sept. 11, 2008 at Audrain Medical Center.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday at Arnold Funeral Home. Burial will follow at St. Brendan Cemetery. Visitation will be Monday from 9 until time of service at the funeral home.
She was born on May 14, 1915 in Audrain County, the daughter of Harry and Annie (Doerge) Erdel. On Oct. 10, 1934 she married Frank C. Fecht in Westphalia. He preceded her in death on Jan. 24, 1974.
Althea had worked at St. Brendan School cafeteria for a number of years and also volunteered at Audrain Medical Center.
Survivors include her son, Larry Fecht, and wife, Joan, of Mexico; a daughter, Jo Ann Nordlund and husband, Stan, of Palmyra, Va.; five grandchildren, Vicki Wilson of Virginia, Carrie Sheldon of Pennsylvania, Steve Nordlund of Oregon, Andy Fecht of Mexico and Lisa Fecht of Mexico. She is also survived by seven great-grandchildren; a sister, Vallie Ann Coil and husband, Bernard, of Mexico; and a sister-in-law, Julia Erdel, of Mexico.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by seven brothers and sisters, Emil Erdel, Dorothy Ruse, Mary Schutte, Eddie Erdel, Wesley Erdel, Leo Erdel and Harold Erdel.

Larry W. Nichols
Larry W. Nichols, 56 of Laddonia, died Thursday, Sept. 11, 2008 at Audrain Medical Center in Mexico. Mr. Nichols was born May 4, 1952 in Mexico to Orville Eli and Goldie (Schmel) Nichols.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday at the Arnold Funeral Home. Burial will follow at the Laddonia Cemetery. Visitation will be Saturday from 5 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
Mr. Nichols married Debby Hays on Oct. 12, 1974 in Vandalia. She survives.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by a daughter, Bethny, of the home; a brother, Orville and wife, Marilyn, of Laddonia; sisters, Lucille Henry and Forence Jennings and husband, Bob, all of Mexico; sisters-in-law, Kim Wallace of St. Peters and Rhonda Morice of Gallatin, Tenn.; fathers-in-law, Jerry Hays and Gerald Wallace of Vandalia; and several nieces and nephews.
Mr. Nichols was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Mildred Freyer and Dorothy Calvo; and his mother-in-law, Pat Wallace.
Mr. Nichols worked for A.P. Green Refractories and MoDot and had been active with Community R-6 sports and Booster Club President.

Marilyn K. Farrah
Marilyn Kay Farrah, 63, of Mexico, died at 1:14 a.m. today, Friday, Sept. 12, 2008, at University Hospital and Clinics in Columbia.
Services are pending at Pickering Funeral Home.
Birtha Dowell
BOWLING GREEN – Birtha "Birthie" Mary Dowell, 90, of Bowling Green, formerly of Vandalia died today, Friday, Sept. 12, 2008, at Country View Nursing Facility in Bowling Green.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Monday at Mudd-Veach Funeral Home, Bowling Green. Burial will be in the Vandalia Cemetery.
Visitation is from 4-8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
