Harold “Bud” Clark Graue, 87, of Bellflower dies

Harold “Bud” Graue, 87, of Bellflower, died on Wednesday, August 25, 2010 at the Audrain Medical Center in Mexico.
Harold Clark “Bud” Graue was born to George W. and Pinkie Bell Snedeker Graue on Easter Sunday, the first day of April (April Fool’s Day) 1923. He went to Milligan School for eight years, then four years to Bellflower High School, graduating in 1941. After high school, he formed a partnership with his father on the farm. In the mid-forties (1946), he was drafted into Army Basic at Ft. Knox, Ky. and was sent to Japan in the Occupation Army, First Calvary Division. He was discharged on May 14, 1947. Two months after being discharged, he married Ida Mae Rock in the Big Spring Methodist Church, July 5, 1947. Shortly after marriage, the couple purchased their own farm in Bellflower. To their marriage three daughters were born - Linda, Marsha and Alice. Bud wrote, “ We were a happy family until 1998 when Ida Mae was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s. Ida Mae passed out of this life on January 10, 2002. But all was not lost, I went to my 60th high school reunion. Lo and behold, there was a lady there that went to high school with me.....”
Bud and Tina Stewart Graue were married on December 5, 2002.
Bud was a lifelong member of the Bellflower Community; he was a hard working, gentle man whose kind smile brightened many a day. He loved farming, family, John Deere tractors, nature and taking his time. He was a humble man who always treated others with respect and fairness. Bud attended the United Methodist Church of Bellflower for 63 years. He was a charter member of the Montgomery County Old Threshers’ Association, which began in 1976. Bud and Tina were the Grand Marshals of the 2009 Old Threshers’ Show.
Bud is survived by his wife, Tina; his children, Linda Graue and husband, Paul Cary, of Columbia, Mo.; Marsha Deering and husband, Steve, of Napoleon, Ohio; Alice Mayer and husband, Rick, of St. Peters; his stepchildren, Judy Dick and husband, Gary, of Bradley, Calif.; Gary Stewart and wife, Lisa, of Raleigh, N.C.; 14 grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren.
Bud was also preceded in death by his parents, his wife, and his sister, Leonora Standley.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, Aug. 28, at the Bellflower United Methodist Church in Bellflower. The Reverend Carolyn Hoffman will officiate and interment with Military Honors will be held in the Bellflower Cemetery in  Bellflower. Visitation will be held from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. on Friday, at the Schlanker Funeral Home in Montgomery City.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to the Bellflower United Methodist Church or to the Old Threshers’ Association, c/o Schlanker Funeral Home, 207 Danville Road, Montgomery City, MO 63361.
