Regina Grote, 92, of Bowling Green dies

Regina A. Grote, age 92 of Bowling Green, passed away Sunday, January 22, 2012 at the Moore-Pike Nursing Home in Bowling Green.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10 a.m. Wednesday at the St. Clement Catholic Church with Fr. Bill Peckman officiating.  Burial will be in the St. Clement cemetery.  Visitation for Mrs. Grote will be from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Tuesday at the Mudd-Veach Funeral Home in Bowling Green.
Regina was born June 29, 1919 in Bowling Green, the daughter of John F. and Anna Catherine Benten Eckelkamp.  On October 26, 1937 she married Clement J. Grote.  He preceded her in death December 22, 1974.  Survivors include two sons, Erv Grote (Judy) and David (Mona) Grote, all of Bowling Green; two daughters, Jean Ann Mechlin (Curt) of Mexico, Doris Moss (Junior) of New Hartford; 19 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren and 12 great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, grandson Tyson Lee Grote; brothers, Frank, Edmond and Julius Eckelkamp and sisters, Agnes and Veronica Eckelkamp.
Mrs. Grote was a member of the St. Clement Catholic Church and Ladies Sodality. She volunteered in many activities and maintenance of the church.   She worked at the St. Clement School Cafeteria for many years.  She loved flowers, gardening and cooking but especially spending time with her grandchildren and family.
Serving as pallbearers will be Brandon Grote, Jared Grote, Jeremy Grote, Terry Sells, Danny Sells, Brock Moss and Jason Moss.
Memorials may be made to St. Clement Church, School or Cemetery.
