Frances Irene Mobbs, 92 of the Mexico area, died at 8:34 a.m. Sunday, Jan. 22, 2012 at Boone Hospital Center in Columbia.
Graveside services will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Laddonia Cemetery with Rev. Bob Stanford officiating.
Frances was born March 4, 1919 in Rush Hill, the daughter of Clarke Stanley and Rosa (Allen) Sims. In 1943, she married Daniel V. Mobbs in Seattle, Wash. He died on Apr. 28, 1961.
Mrs. Mobbs was a 1937 graduate of Laddonia High School and was baptized at Littleby Methodist Church. She was a homemaker and had been a waitress for seven years at Mary’s Country Kitchen.
Survivors include three daughters, Dorene Beck and husband, Edward of Willard, Mo., Rose Acton of Mexico and Betty Finder of Washington, Mo.; step-son, Jim Mobbs and wife, Maxine of Coolville, Ohio; two daughters-in-law, Maggie Mobbs of Federal Way, Wash. and Candance Mobbs of Bothell, Wash.; 16 grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandsons; and two sisters, Fern Hanson of Federal Way, Wash. and Sue Davidson of Middleton, Tenn.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by two sons, Tom Mobbs and Jerry Mobbs; three brothers, Jewel Sims, Floyd Sims and William Sims; and three sisters, Effie Dye, Ann Baker and Ella Mae Sims.
