Oleta F. Steinkamp, 86 of Mexico, died Tuesday, March 9, 2010 at Audrain Medical Center.
Funeral services will be held Thursday at 1:30 p.m. at Arnold Funeral Home with Fr. John Schmitz officiating. Visitation is Thursday from noon until service time. Burial will be in East Lawn Memorial Park.
Oleta was born on Aug. 16, 1923 in Higbee, the daughter of Walter and Lena Bagby. On Dec. 25, 1946 she married Bernard A. “Barney” Steinkamp, Sr. in Moberly. They moved to Mexico in January 1947. She worked for many years for dentists Dr. Huey and Dr. Hodges and retired in 1985. She was a wonderful cook and mother.
In addition to her husband Barney, she is survived by a son, Bernard A. Steinkamp, Jr. of Centralia, a granddaughter Amber Steinkamp of Lees Summit, a sister Opal Porter of Moberly and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother Leonard Bagby and a sister Lorene Green.
