Linda F. Peters, 62, of Paola, Kan. dies

Linda F. Peters, 62, of Paola, Kan. passed away Sunday, August 22, 2010 surrounded by the love of her family at home. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, August 28, at Overland Park Church of Christ, 13400 W. 119th St., Overland Park, Kan. Burial will be in Oaklawn Memorial Gardens, Olathe, Kan. Friends  may call from 6-8 p.m. Friday at the Penwell-Gabel Funeral Home Olathe Chapel. In lieu of flowers the family suggests contributions to the Susan G. Komen for the Cure, Kansas City Affiliate, 1111 Main St., Kansas City, MO 64105.
Linda was born January 15, 1948 in Auxvasse, Mo. to Robert and Nora Poage. She attended Missouri State School for the Deaf in Fulton, Mo. She was a Clerk for the IRS for 22 years, and has enjoyed retired life since January 2008. She was a member of Overland Park Church of Christ, enjoyed camping, traveling, her red hat club and spending time with her family and friends.
She is survived by her husband of 10 years, David L Peters of the home, her son Shawn Gibbs, daughters Lana Luebbert and Kelly Showman, five grandchildren Ben, Drew, Aidan, Kadena and Ava, all of the Kansas City area, her parents Robert and Nora Poage, sister Donna Schaefer, brothers Bobby and Glen Poage, all of Mexico, Mo.
Her smile, laugh, and warm and tender heart will be missed by all who loved her.
