Irene H. Kettle, 90, of Fulton, passed away on Thursday, Feb. 25, 2010, at the University Hospital in Columbia.
She was born Nov. 9, 1919, in Calwood, the daughter of the late Louis Mason and Dessi Roberta (Glascock) Houchins. She was married to Everett Jewel Kettle who preceded her in death.
She is survived by three sons, E.L. Kettle and his wife Linda, Danny Kettle and his wife Janet, and Arlin Kettle and his friend Julie Giesler, all of Fulton; one brother, J.R. Houchins and his wife Alma of Mexico; five grandchildren, Jeff Kettle, Joe Kettle, Jennifer Kettle, Amy Kettle Glover, and Arin Kettle; seven great-grandchildren, Josh Kettle, Tyler Kettle, Devin Russell, Cole Kettle, Taylor Kettle, Nola Glover and Michael Presley; and two great-great-grandchildren, Hayley Kettle and Mason Presley.
Irene was a member of Unity Baptist Church and volunteered and participated in many activities at the church. She loved spending time with family and she was always helping anyone she could.
Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. today at the Unity Baptist Church in Toledo with Pastor Bruce Williamson and Rev. Robert E. Korff officiating. Burial followed in Unity Baptist Cemetery. Family received friends on Sunday from 2-4 p.m. at the church.
