Mildred E. Russell, 93, formerly of Mexico dies

Mildred E. Russell, 93, of Jefferson City, formerly of Mexico, died at 2:15 p.m., Saturday, August 21, 2010, at Capital Region Medical Center in Jefferson City.
Mildred was born on July 17, 1917, in Mexico, a daughter of William Sidney and Laura Elnora (Brown) Geary. On October 8, 1949, in Jefferson City she married Peyton T. Russell. Mr. Russell preceded her in death on December 8, 2003.
Mrs. Russell was a life-long Mexico resident until she moved to Jefferson City after the death of her husband. She graduated from Mexico High School and worked for A.P. Green Refractories for 11 years and for 13 years with Mexico Public Schools retiring in 1981. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Mexico.
Survivors include one son, David G. Russell and wife Maribeth, Russellville, Mo.; three grandchildren, Megan, Morgan, and Jordan Russell; and one sister-in-law, Lucille Geary, Jefferson City.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Ross Raymond Geary and Eugene Geary.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, August 24, at Pickering Funeral Home with Rev. Rev. Paul Young officiating. Visitation will be Tuesday from noon until service time. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery.
