Betty J. Moore, 82 of Mexico, died Thursday, August 26, 2010 at Golden Living Center-Pin Oaks.
Graveside services will be held Saturday at 10 a.m. at East Lawn Memorial Park in Mexico. Visitation will be Saturday from 9 - 10 a.m. at Arnold Funeral Home.
Betty was born on June 14, 1928 in Mexico to William Harry and Ethlyn (Sims) Moore. She was educated in Mexico, received her undergraduate degree at Northeast Missouri State Teachers College in Kirksville with a B.S. in Music Education and a Master of Arts in Music Education. She was also a graduate of Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary with a Master of Religious Education Degree in Ft. Worth, Texas.
Betty taught instrumental and vocal music in Missouri and Iowa schools for 12 years and served Baptist Churches in Missouri as Minister of Education and Music for 23 years. She served as vice-president and president of Baptist Religious Education and Music Organization while on church staff in St. Louis, MO, served as Secretary-Treasurer of Ministerial Alliance in Mexico while serving on church staff in Mexico.
She was preceded in death by both parents.
She is survived by her aunts, Cleo Sims of Mexico, Anna Mae Vestal of Coeur D'Alene, Idaho, and Lucy Moore of St. Charles and numerous cousins.
