Mary Leanna Summers
Mary Leanna Summers of Axtell, Texas, passed away Thursday, June 11, 2009. Services were held at 11 a.m., Sunday, June 14, at Brazos Funeral Home, Waco, Texas, with the Chaplain Jaime McGlothlin officiating. Burial followed at China Spring Cemetery. Visitation was held from 6- 8 p.m., Saturday, June 13, at Brazos Funeral Home.
Mary was born April 26, 1941, in Rockport, Ill., to Joseph H. Mulkins and Lulu M. (Durrall) Mulkins. She married Bill Summers on July 16, 1960. They farmed and owned many businesses in Laddonia, Mo. They moved to Texas October 31, 1973. Mary enjoyed long walks, vacationing and spending time with their family and friends. She was an exquisite lady and was the life of every room she entered. She was a very strong, caring, and lovely lady in every sense of the word. She loved her children and grandchildren and cherished her great-grandsons.
She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother, son-in-law, Frankie Joe Dominguez, Sr., and a granddaughter, Tessa M. Summers.
She is survived by her daughter, Christina Dominguez of Axtell; son, Patrick Summers and wife, Janita, of Whitney,Texas; seven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren, Roman Dominguez and Dustin Wilson; and one living brother.
Pallbearers are Chester Halloway, Frankie (Joey) Dominguez, Jr., Leslie Wilson, Cassie Wilson,
Marshall Woodlock, Zachrey Summers, Rachel Summers, and Gary Brown. Honorary Pallbearers are Dustin Wilson, Roman Dominguez, Marshall T. Woodlock, and Helena Woodlock.

Vaurien Saak
Ruth Vaurien Saak, 87 of Wellsville, died at 6:05 p.m. Saturday, June 13, 2009 at New Florence Nursing and Care Center, New Florence.
Graveside services will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, June 16, 2009 at Wellsville Cemetery with the Rev. John Ray officiating.
Mrs. Saak was born March 17, 1922 in New Florence, the daughter of Luther Dennis Ellis and Beulah Ella Bryant Ellis.
On Jan. 7, 1939 at Hermann, she married Walter John Saak.
Mrs. Saak attended school in New Florence and Montgomery City and was a graduate of the American Secondary School. She was employed at Hill’s Jewelry in Wellsville for 16 years. She became co-owner of Argent, Inc. Jewelry and retired in 1983. She had lived in Wellsville since 1951 and was a former member of Friends of the Library and had served on the Wellsville Public Library Board, Wellsville Chamber of Commerce, L’Etude Club, Wellsville VFW Auxiliary. Historical Society of Montgomery City, was a charter member of the Gamma Road Lodge, the Gamma Road Advisory Board, and the volunteer auxiliary of the Gamma Road Lodge.
The Saaks spent their early retirement years traveling, visiting all 48 contiguous United States. Vaurien enjoyed collecting music boxes, Lady Planter Heads and dragon fly pins, among other collectibles. She was a member of the United Methodist Presbyterian Church in Wellsville and had served on the Methodist Church Board and was a former president of the Methodist Guild.
Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Patricia Ann and George Barley, Phoenix, Ariz.; grandchildren, Stacey Lansche and Bryan Barley, both of Phoenix, Ariz.; great-grandchildren, Jordan Michael Lansche and Abigail Jaylin Fawcett, of Phoenix, Ariz.; sisters and brother and spouses, Hazel Minerva Dyke, High Hill, Leslie Stuart Ellis, Abilene, Texas, Alpha Cornelia Davey, Wellsville, Zelma Roberta and Robert McKenzie, Dallas, Texas, and Lora Dene and Tom Riddle, Montgomery City.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Walter John Saak; brothers, Harold Stanley Ellis and Warren Harding Ellis; and sister, Evelyn Iola Carlock.

Claudia Rudasill
Claudia Rudasill, 84 of Mexico, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, June 12, 2009. She died peacefully in her sleep at Golden Living Center - Pin Oaks in Mexico.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday at 10 a.m. at Bethel Presbyterian Church, north of Mexico, with Dr. David Fray officiating. Visitation is today from 5-7 p.m. at Arnold Funeral Home. Burial will be in the Bethel church cemetery.
Claudia was born in Mexico on Nov. 27, 1924, the daughter of David E. and Lillian J. (Flynt) Fisher. She attended the Jewish School of Nursing in St. Louis from 1943 to 1946, graduating as a registered nurse. She worked several years at Audrain Medical Center delivering babies before getting married and raising a family. Claudia had many passions in life; her family, other people, and most important, her belief in the Lord.
She was married to John Rudasill on Feb. 22, 1948. He went to the Lord on June 1, 2003.
Besides being a great mother and friend to many, she volunteered her time and energy to many passions she had. Her church, playing the piano for many years, there was always food on the table for her family and for friends who would happen to stop by at meal time. She was involved in many organizations and clubs over the years. The Molino Homemakers Club was a group who met monthly and did many worthwhile things for the Molino community. She was a long time member of the Mexico Garden Club, PEO, DAR, King’s Daughters, and volunteer 4-H leader for over 30 years. She held many positions in these groups and always was willing to put her time and talent to work when called upon.
She is survived by her two sons, John David “J.D.” Rudasill and Jeff Rudasill, both of Mexico, and by a daughter, Jean Kelley and her husband Pat of Rogers, Ark. She is also survived by two granddaughters, Frances Rudasill of Mexico and Ashley McGarrah and her husband Rick of Rogers, Ark. and a great-granddaughter, Kira McGarrah, also of Rogers, Ark. Also, two nieces and their families; Judy Fisher Van Dolah and Jane Anderson, both of Lake Ozark.
In addition to her husband John, she was preceded in death by a brother David Leon Fisher and his wife Betty.

Elizabeth Augusta Fitzgerald, 92, of Middletown, died at 4:20 p.m., Sunday, June 14, 2009, at St. Joseph West Hospital in Lake St. Louis.
Funeral services are pending at Myers Funeral Home in Middletown.
