Bill J. Meador, 83, Centralia, Mo. passed away Thursday, February 25, 2010 at the Samaritan Memorial Hospital in Macon, Mo. He was born December 2, 1926 the son of the late Joel and Elizabeth Whitchurch Meador. On July 8, 1956 he was united in marriage to Mary Ann Cone.
In addition to his wife Mary Ann of 53 years, he will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by one son Bill David Meador of Jefferson City, Mo.; one daughter, Jane Saari and her husband John of Kansas City, Mo.; three grandchildren Raymond Saari, Jacob Meador and Rebecca Saari; In addition to his parents, two brothers and two half sisters preceded him in death.
Mr. Meador served his country in the United States Marine Corps during World War II. He was awarded several purple hearts for injuries sustained in the war. He owned and operated Meador and Son Funeral Home in Centralia and Sturgeon for over 50 years retiring in January of 2007. He was a 50-year member of the Centralia Masonic Lodge, V.F.W Post 6276, American Legion and the First baptist Church of Centralia. He enjoyed fishing, magic and spending time with his family.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, March 2, 2010 at the Oliver Funeral Home in Centralia, Mo. Interment with Military Honors will be at the Mt. Horeb Cemetery in Sturgeon, Mo. Visitation will be from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. Monday, March 1, 2010 at the Oliver Funeral Home in Centralia, Mo. with a Masonic Service at 7:30 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the Centralia Boy Scouts, c/o Oliver Funeral Home, P.O.
