James B. Hoover
James B. Hoover, 58 of Euless, Texas, formerly of Mexico, died Thursday, Sept. 4, 2008 at his home in Texas.
Memorial services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday at Arnold Funeral Home. A Military Committal service will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at the Missouri Veterans Cemetery in Jacksonville, Mo.
Mr. Hoover was born Feb. 19, 1950 in Mexico, a son of Henry E. and Anna Marie (Manning) Hoover.
He graduated from Mexico Senior High School on May 23, 1968. He earned a B.S. in Business and Psychology from Columbia College.
Jim served in the U.S. Army in Vietnam in 1969 and received five Medals of Honor.
On June 30, 1973 in Mexico, Jim married Sharon Mills, who survives.
Jim retired from 3M in Columbia, Mo. after 30 years of service and then moved to Euless, Texas.
In addition to his wife, Jim is survived by four sons, Jim (Brandy) Hoover, St. Joseph, Don Reno, Millersburg, Theron (Brandi Sears) Hoover of St. Joseph; and Fabian (Jessica) Hoover of Mexico.
Grandchildren, Stone Hoover, Mason Hoover, Colton Hoover, Mackenzie Hoover, Evan Hoover, Caylan Reno and Adam Reno.
Other survivors include his mother, Ann Hoover of Mexico; a sister, Ann Wilson of Mexico; six brothers, Edward L. (Karen) Hoover, Mexico, Bill (Kathy) Hoover, Columbia, Russell (Cynthia) Hoover, Columbia, Kenneth (Sherry) Hoover, Mexico, Henry (Karen) Hoover, Mexico, and Phil (Debbie Kay) Hoover, Mexico; and several nieces and nephews.
Jim was preceded in death by his father, Henry E. Hoover; nephew, Michael Hoover; and brother-in-law, L. Nolan Wilson.

William Michael “Mike” Maloney
William Michael Maloney, 65, of Kansas City, died unexpectedly on Sept. 4, 2008, at Truman Medical Center, Kansas City.
He was born on July 20, 1943, in Mexico, the son of William and Margaret Lark Maloney, both of whom preceded him in death.
He was also preceded in death by his sister, Patty Eigenrauch.
One of Mike’s passions was world history and he dedicated his life as an educator to that subject.
Mike is survived by his uncle, Richard F. Lark of Mission Hills, California, and cousin, Paul F. Lark of Olathe, Kansas. Also surviving to cherish his memory, longtime, devoted companion, Gloria Atchity, along with Kerry Schmidt and all of the caring staff of Rockhill Manor of Kansas City.
Graveside services will be held on Wednesday, September 10 at 1:00 p.m. at St. Brendan Cemetery. Visitation will be from noon until service time at Pickering Funeral Home. A celebration of Mike’s life will be held at Rockhill Manor, 4235 Locust, Kansas City, Missouri, by St. James Catholic Church at 10 a.m. on Saturday, September 13, 2008.

Edith King
Edith M. King, 68, of Columbia, died Saturday, Sept. 6, 2008, in Columbia.
Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Friday at Arnold Funeral Home.
Visitation is from 12:30 p.m. until time of the service Friday at the funeral home.
