Now that February is here, the Mexico High School wrestling season is reaching its climax. Bulldog coach Nick Hoth filed the following report this morning.
“Over the weekend the Mexico wrestling team traveled to Odessa for the last regular-season tournament of the year. It was the toughest tournament we have been in, which was exactly what we need right before district and state.
“There were no team scores kept, but Mexico did have several individual medalists. This was a very difficult tournament with tough matches every round. I was very impressed with the way the boys kept wrestling hard the entire day. We were able to win some close matches and battle back from some early losses. 
“Those two things will go a long way at district and state. Our next match will be Tuesday night at home against district and conference rival Fulton. This will be our Senior Night.”
Mexico medalists: 140-Sinjon Adams 2nd, 152-Monterio Burton 3rd,  171-Patrick Enslen 2nd, 215-Haylon Jacobs 2nd, 285-Josh Harlan 2nd.
