In a tight contest throughout, sixth seed NorCal trailed 18-16 at halftime and 23-21 going into the final period. The Ladybirds were down 28-24 with some 90 seconds to go before 3-pointers by Morgan Brown-Emmons and Megan Williams gave them a short-lived 30-28 lead.
Brown-Emmons topped 8-19 North Callaway with 11P/13R, while Jordan Gray added 9P.
Elsberry, now 16-10, meets No. 1 seed Bowling Green at 5:30 p.m. Saturday for first place. The 23-3 Bobcats beat fourth seed Centralia 64-28 in the other semifinal.
Boys semifinal pairings today match No. 1 seed Elsberry vs. No. 5 NorCal at 5:30 p.m., followed by No. 2 Centralia vs. No. 3 Bowling Green at 7.

All-stater Jon Gilliam netted 33 points to pace the Coyotes, who led 20-14, 47-24 and 66-38 at the quarters. Joining him in double figures was Tyler Dunlap with 11P; Cole Lockhart and Matt Jeffers each added 9P, while Gilliam also had 6A/5S to go with his four 3-pointers.
No. 2 seed Canton and No. 3 Silex meet in today’s 6 p.m. semifinal. Wednesday’s girls semifinal results were No. 1 seed Canton 67, No. 4 Silex 31 and No. 2 Clopton 68, No. 6 Van-Far 38.
