Mexico High School golf third in Jefferson City

Coming off a 53 score the day before to start the season, Mexico High School senior Ashley Bridgford carded 46 for nine holes Wednesday as the Lady Bulldogs took on Helias and Rolla at Oak Hills Golf Course in Jefferson City.
Varsity team scores were Helias 177, Rolla 214 and Mexico 223. Other Mexico results were freshman Layne Ray 56, Ceirra Schmidt 57, Maggie Geeson 64 and Leigha Goslin 64.
“Oak Hills is a tough course and requires a great amount of skill,” MHS coach Megan Rice said. “I was pleased our girls improved their team score on this course since last year by 18 strokes.”
Rolla’s Briana Choi led all golfers with 40. JV rounds for Mexico were Haley Auwarter 67, Kaylee Stone 68 and Karley Newsom 69.
First home match for MHS is Tuesday vs. Harrisburg.
