Two cadets represented Missouri Military Academy at the National JROTC Rifle Championships in Camp Perry, Ohio, Feb. 18-21.
“I thought Cadets Jeong Yong Choi and Jefferson Green shot very well under intense pressure,” said MMA rifle coach 1st Sgt. Randal Jacobson. “Green shot his personal best for the year, shooting a total of 1,017 out of a possible 1,200 points. He placed 65th out of 110 competitors.
“Cadet Choi did very well also, missing a bronze medal by just four points. He finished the match with a total of 1,053 points out of a possible 1,200.”
Choi placed 29th out of 110 competitors.
Both shooters and Hsin Wei (Eric) Chiu, the alternate, gained a great deal of knowledge and experience, said 1st Sgt. Jacobson.
“We are looking forward to taking next year’s team to the national championships,” he said.
