TICKETS ON SALE: Tipoff is less than a week away for another Mexico-Fulton boys showdown at Mizzou Arena in Columbia, part of the 19th annual MFA Oil/Break Time Shootout.
The Bulldogs and Hornets will meet again on the collegiate floor in a game counting in the NCMC standings. Sunday’s mostly boys-schedule matches Southern Boone vs. Blair Oaks at 10 a.m., Harrisburg vs. Marion County (girls) at 11:40, La Plata vs. Meadville at 1:20 p.m., Fatima vs. Helias at 3 p.m., Schuyler County vs. Wellington-Napoleon at 4:40 p.m., Macon vs. Salisbury at 6:20, plus Mexico vs. Fulton at 8.
Tickets are still on sale at the Mexico High School athletic office for $5 from 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. daily. They also may be purchased at Break Time stores for $7.50 or at the door for $10. Tickets are good for all day; proceeds benefit the Show-Me State Games.
SPECIAL OLYMPICS: Local Special Olympics athletes will take to Mexico’s Gary Filbert Court between today’s 5 p.m. Grade 9 boys game with Jeff Junior and the 6:30 varsity-only contest with St. Charles.
CHILI ON ROAD: Friday will see MHS varsity and junior varsity boys hit the road to NCMC rival Marshall. The Marshall Kiwanis Club will serve chili from 5 to 7:30 p.m. in the Marshall High School commons.
Chili, dessert and drink costs $5 for adults and $2 for children under 12. Hot dogs are $1 apiece and takeout is available.
PINK OUT TIME: V/JV games Friday, Feb. 10 at Moberly for the Bulldogs and Lady Bulldogs will be played at the Moberly Area Communtiy College arena as well as Moberly High School.
JV girls will play at 5 p.m. at MACC, JV boys at 5 at Moberly High, varsity girls at 6:15 at MACC and varsity boys at 7:30 at MACC.
The evening will be a Pink Out Night with both NCMC schools joining together to promote cancer awareness.
Mexico has a chance this week to purchase their own Mexico Pink Out T-shirts. For Mexico players and coaches, the cost is $6.50; for Mexico fans and parents, the cost is $10 for small to extra large, $11.50 for 2XL and $13 for 3XL.
Deadline for orders is Friday, Jan. 27. Non-school people may order their shirts through the Mexico High School office.
