Sunday of games
Mexico Parks & Recreation will host a Backyard Games and Family Fun Event on Sunday at Fairgrounds Park. All games are free and open to the public; no registration is required.
Play begins at 2 p.m. with horseshoe pitching, washer tossing, volleyball, tennis, kickball, badminton, croquet and basketball. The Mexico Go-Gitter Relay Team will be on site to sell food and refreshments.

Running Tuesday in the Warrenton Invitational, St. Brendan School fielded 5 boys and 2 girls.
For the Irish, Sean Kelly clocked 9:42 for 19th place, Mathias Whitworth 10:41 for 44th, Gib Graham 12:22 for 100th, Bradley Muckerman 12:55 for 106th and Neil Hopkins 13:22 for 118th. Top time in their race was 8:36.
For the Lady Irish, Kaitlin Orr ran 11:49 for 29th and Beth Jennings 13:02 for 56th. Top time in their race was 9:55.

Montgomery County High School athletic director Corey Felten has announced the following senior recognition nights for the fall Wildcats and Lady Wildcats.
Oct. 1: Softball postgame recognition.
Oct. 21: Soccer postgame recognition.
Oct. 21: Volleyball varsity pregame recognition (6:45 p.m. or so).
Oct. 24: Band, cross country, cheerleading and football halftime recognition (8 p.m. approximately).
