Kiwanis Lake trout season opening

The regular trout season at Kiwanis Lake in Mexico opens Monday, weather and ice conditions permitting, according to the Mexico Parks & Recreation Department and the Missouri Department of Conservation.
A trout fishing contest will be held from 7:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. with registration at 7 o’clock. Prizes will be awarded for biggest trout and stringer.
Fishermen must have a Missouri fishing permit and trout permit, except for those exempted by MDC regulations. For more information, call P&R at 581-2100.
