Mexico High School wrestlers completed their dual meet schedule Thursday night with a split of matches at Centralia, defeating Missouri Military Academy 66-6 before bowing to the host Panthers 50-24.
Bulldog coach Nick Hoth filed the following report this morning
“It was another exciting night of wrestling. We had a big win against MMA. The boys wrestled very well and we earned a lot of wins against district opponents.
“The second dual did not go as well. Centralia proved to us why they are one of the top teams in the state; they wrestle very tough and do not let up the entire match. But this was a good wake-up call for us right before district. There are many things the boys can improve on as wrestlers and that I can improve on as a coach. Our next competition will be Feb. 12-13 at home for the Class 2/District 2 tournament.
