The Missouri Military Academy Colonels opened the football season with a 51-0 loss at Hallsville on Friday evening. The Indians broke the game open with a couple of big plays midway through the first quarter.
"It was a rough first game for the Colonels," said fifth-year MMA head coach Capt. Brian Maher. "I strongly feel that this was a positive experience for my team because they have learned a little bit of humility!
"Most of the players were embarrassed Friday, and they have told me that focus and hard work will be shown this week in practice in preparation for our game at Winfield this Friday."
The Indians led 21-0 after the first quarter.
