Joseph Delano Jones of rural Centralia passed away at home after a year long battle with cancer surrounded by family on Jan. 21, 2024.

Delano was born July 12, 1937, to Arnold and Virginia (Beasley) Jones. He attended Centralia High School graduating in 1955. He loved playing high school football. He was a member of the National Guard for six years. After high school Delano was a life-long farmer. His most important job was a devoted husband, loving dad and adoring grandfather and great-grandfather.

On Feb. 14, 1961, he married Barbara Mongler. They were married 62 years and she survives at their home.

He had one beloved daughter, Jadeania Finck and her husband Chris Finck.

Some of Delano’s most enjoyable years were spent with his only granddaughter, Janeka Ausmus (Michael Ehnert).

Delano also had one great-grandson who was the light of his life and best buddy ever, Mikyan Ehnert.

Delano is survived by one brother, Harry Arnold Jones and wife Velma. One brother-in-law, Carl Mongler, Jr. and wife Linda. Nephews: Larry Dorman, Harry Dorman and wife Pam, Jim Jones and wife Tammy, Carl Mongler, III and wife Kristin.

Preceded in death by his parents Arnold and Virginia (Beasley) Jones, sister Rosemary Dorman and husband Lee, nephew Johnny Jones and his mother Delores (Anderson) Jones. In-laws Carl and Georgia (McDonald) Mongler, as well as numerous uncles, aunts and cousins on both the Beasley and Jones sides of his family.

A family Graveside Service will be held at Centralia City Cemetery in Centralia, on Sun., Jan. 28 at 1:00 p.m.
