Voters headed to the polls April 2 to the tune of 11.63 percent turnout. Of 15,171 voters, a total of 1,764 ballots were cast. Here are Audrain County results, with 16 of 16 precincts reporting.

Mexico schools proposition passes, local elections decided

Voters headed to the polls April 2 to the tune of 11.63 percent turnout. Of 15,171 voters, a total of 1,764 ballots were cast. Here are Audrain County results, with 16 of 16 precincts reporting.

Mexico No. 59 School Board Member - 3-year term

Prevailing out of a field of three are Michelle Stephens received 804 votes followed by Chris Williams with 740. Jennifer Gore had 589 votes.

Running unopposed for the two-year term was Lennette Brown, who received 1,052 votes.

Mexico Councilman

Chris B. Miller was top vote-getter with 434 votes with Vicki Briggs receiving 382 in a five-way race for two slots. Laine Chedwick had 288 votes, Cameron R. Bessolo, 216; and Joshua Price, 83.

Vandalia Mayor

Ralph G. Kuda Jr. was unopposed, receiving 86 votes.

Vandalia  Ward 1 Alderman

Larry J. Shaw was unopposed, receiving 41 votes.

Vandalia Ward 2 Alderman

Janet Turner was the only candidate, with 10 votes.

Vandalia Ward 3 Alderman

John Weiser was unopposed, with 41 votes.

Vandiver Village Trustees

Theodore (Ted) Wieberg had 29 votes and Paul Nixon, 26, to fill the two trustee posts. Shane M. Brixey had five votes.

Benton City Village Alderman

John Heathman had 10 votes; Kathy Nolan, eight;  and Judy Martin, seven, to fill three Benton City posts.

Benton City Village Proposition 1

Benton City's proposition passed 9-1.

Vandalia Special Road Question

The Vandalia Special Road Question passed 129-55.

Audrain PWSD No. 1 Question

The Audrain PWSD Nol 1 Question passed 124-40.

Laddonia Alderman

Travis Lybarger had 42 votes and Dwayne Houge, 38 to prevail in a four-way race. Austin Layman had 29 votes and Tyler Myers, 20.

Farber Alderman

Lynn Flowers was the sole candidate, receiving 15 votes.

Community R-VI School Board

Top two vote-getters are Amy Brooks, with 130 and Scott Sims, with 123 for the two board posts. Chuck Sommer received 23 votes.

Mexico School District No. 59 Paws for Progress Proposition passed by an 826-389 margin.

Steve Curtis received 508 votes in the Emergency 911 Western District Board Member race, prevailing over Kara Clovis, who had 338.

Kyle Fischer had 177 votes as the only candidate in the Vandalia Special Road Commissioner race.

In the Little Dixie Fire Protection District Director race for two posts, Dennis Isgrig got 279 votes; Terry Hagedorn, 239. Brandon Pehle had 194 votes; Amber DeOrnellis, 145; and Edgar (Sonny) Orth, 84.
