This year, 2-1-1 hopes to involve other organizations and businesses in filling the gaps.
“On February 11, we want to remind people there is a number they can call to give or to get help in Missouri,” said Mary Jo Harris, United Way of Audrain County. “While 2-1-1 received more than 124,000 calls in 2010, we know there are still people who need help and don’t know where to turn. By simply dialing three digits, 2-1-1, people will be connected to a specialist to help them find the resources they need at any time. Each hour someone in Missouri needs help locating and connecting with essential community services. By calling 2-1-1, people are able to find help or give help easier than before.”
