The Audrain County Social Service office is reorganizing  and moving to a new location to improve services and increase efficiency. The new office will be open to clients, starting Thursday.
The Missouri Department of Social Services' offices in Audrain and Boone counties are being restructured to improve services for families, while office functions are streamlined.
"As a state agency, we are always looking for ways to improve operations while providing the tools needed to strengthen Missouri families," said Social Services Director Ron Levy. "By being more efficient in the work we do behind the scenes, we can improve those front-line services that impact families."
Starting Thursday, the Audrain County office will move to 4690 S. Clark, in the former Movie Gallery building, next to the Walmart Supercenter. The new office will house the Children's Division office and serve as a resource center for Family Support Division services.
"We did our best to keep the office close. Right now, we don't anticipate any transportation problems with our clients. But if there is a problem, our office is flexible and willing to reschedule appointments for more convenient times," said Seth Bundy, director of communications with the Missouri Department of Social Services.
Bundy said families in Audrain County who receive Family Support Division services can still receive assistance and access all services at the new location, without any interruption. Meanwhile, behind-the-scenes data entry and case management operations will be relocated to the existing Family Support Division office in Boone County, 1500 Vandiver Drive, Suite 103 in Columbia. Families already receiving services in Boone County will not be impacted by this reorganization.
