AUXVASSE – February 20-25 is the 52nd Annual Loafer’s Week in Auxvasse.
Loafer’s Week is held each year in late winter bringing everyone together to visit and find out what their friends and neighbors have been doing all year. People attend from throughout central Missouri.
Loafer’s Week has become a reunion for a lot of people who were born and raised in the Auxvasse community but have moved away due to their jobs or other reasons. A lot of folks return each year during Loafer’s Week as a chance to visit friends and family and to get caught up on what’s been going on in their lives.
There will be board games and cards available for those who want to sit around and visit and have a little fun. Free coffee, iced tea and peanuts will be available all week for everyone who attends – all taking place at the Auxvasse Community Hall on Main Street.
Doors will open at 8 a.m. and meals will start being served at 11 a.m.
Everyone attending can sign a meal ticket each day for two $25 cash gifts, donated by United Security Bank.
The Community Hall Association is also having a daily 50/50 raffle. The drawing for both will be on Saturday the 25th.
Participants do not have to be present to win either one.
A meal will be served each day by a different organization.
Main dishes will be:
Monday - Auxvasse Presbyterian Church - barbecued pulled pork sandwiches
Tuesday – Fulton Masonic Lodge – fried chicken
Wednesday – Fulton Senior Center – pork roast
Thursday - Auxvasse Community Hall Association – turkey
Friday – Knights of Columbus Council No. 4454 St. Peters Catholic Church – fried fish
Saturday - Auxvasse Lion’s Club - “all you can eat” pancakes
