Larry G. Pollard, 73 of Mexico, died at 11:30 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 30, 2011 at his home.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at Centennial Baptist Church with Rev. Chris Atkinson officiating. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until time of the service Friday at the church.
Larry was born Feb. 11, 1938 in Roodhouse, Illinois, the son of Howard Earl and Ruth (Overby) Pollard. On Apr. 2, 1960 in Pittsfield, Illinois, he married Jessie Ruth Hull. She survives.
Mr. Pollard had worked as a signalman for GM&O Railroad, retiring after 42 years. He was a member of EAA Chapter #1225 at the Mexico Airport. Larry and Ruthie were avid motorcycle riders.
In addition to his wife, Ruth of the home, Larry is survived by one daughter, Lori Davis of Independence; one son, Jim Pollard and wife, Donna of Blue Springs; three grandchildren, Chase Davis and wife, Christy of Blue Springs, Miranda and Sierra Pollard of Blue Springs; one great-granddaughter, Gracie Ray Davis; and one sister, Linda Seymoure of Jacksonville, Illinois.
Larry was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Jack Pollard.
