Ronald Martin Dowell, 75 of Mexico, passed away at 4:34 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 10, 2012 at the University of Missouri Hospital in Columbia.
Visitation is from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at the Arnold Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at Arnold Funeral Home with Rev. Karen Taylor officiating. Burial with full military honors will be in East Lawn Memorial Park.
Ronald was born Nov. 4, 1937 in Mexico, the son of Martin H. and Lucile (Reid) Dowell.
Ronald graduated from Paris High School in 1955. He then served in the U.S. Navy for three years, from Sept. 1955 to Nov. 1958.
On April 14, 1963 at Midway Christian Church in Mexico, he married Janet K. Shouse.
He was a farmer and a member of Midway Christian Church, where he had served as a Deacon. Ronald loved being a dad, husband, grandfather and neighbor.
Survivors include his wife, Janet of the home; three daughters, Lisa Dowell of Mexico, Missy Dowell of Maldives Island and Dana Dowell of Atlanta, GA; one grandson, Dwight Taylor and wife, Katie of Mexico and their children, Claire, Jacob and Brandon; his mother, Lucile Logerman of Mexico; and one brother, Mark Dowell and wife, Lynnette of Mexico.
Ronald was preceded in death by his father and one infant brother.
