Mexico Bulldogs baseball team won two out of three games this week at the Fulton tournament with a 4-1 victory Wednesday over the host team.
Gavin Jones (5-0) was the winning pitcher for the Bulldogs. He did not strike out any batters, nor did he walk any.
"It was a typical game for Gavin," said his coach Keith Louder. "He doesn't let the batters square up and hit the ball hard."
The Hornets got their only run (unearned) in the first inning. The Bulldogs did not score until the sixth inning when they scored 3 and then added 1 in the seventh.
Offensively for the Bulldogs Cody Creed was 4-4 with 1RBI, Matt Ridgway was 1-4, 1RBI, and Kyle Whanger 1-3 with 2RBI.
The Bulldogs return to action Monday with a double-header at Moberly.
