Event held the fourth Saturday in September

Students at Mexico Middle School and Mexico High School gathered Wednesday morning to participate in the annual See You at the Pole community event. Youth leaders from various churches worked together to coordinate the event and provided refreshments for the students at both schools.
MMS students met at 7:30 a.m. in front of the school where they heard teacher Erica Norris read a Scripture verse. They then broke up into small groups to pray.
MHS held its event at 8 a.m. when students gathered on the lawn of the high school. JROTC members raised the American Flag while the students sang the "National Anthem," led by student Isaac Prior. After the raising of the flag and the singing, students gather in a circle around the flag pole for prayer.
See You at the Pole is an annual event which encourages students in middle school and high school to gather around the flagpole in front of their local school for prayer, Scripture reading and hymn singing, during the early morning before school starts.
The American SYATP events occur on every fourth Wednesday of September. The events began in 1990, in the United States.
