After winning its last three varsity volleyball matches, all of which took place either on the road or in tournament play, Centralia finally got to return home for the first time in a week on Tuesday for a non-Clarence Cannon Conference bout against North Central Missouri Conference rival Kirksville.
The last time the Lady Panthers were at home they lost in two sets to Montgomery County and on Oct. 9 against the Lady Tigers it was more of the same as Centralia found itself on the wrong side of a, 25-17, 25-18, decision.
One day earlier on Monday, Oct. 8, at Bowling Green in another non-league matchup the Lady Panthers were still riding high after placing third at the Belle Tournament and was able to claim victory on this day in two sets, 25-22, 25-22.
Over the weekend, Oct. 6, in the game for third place at the Belle Tournament Centralia went up against a familiar face in North Callaway, which it then put down, 25-13, 25-17. About four hours earlier in order to get to that point the Lady Panthers also defeated Bourbon in two sets, 25-15, 25-23. It was against Eugene when things went wrong at this event. Not really wrong, but, these two squads did split the two sets they played with Eugene claiming the first, 25-11, and Centralia the second, 26-24.
The Lady Panthers began the day by besting host Belle, 25-20, 25-22, as well.
Centralia is at Eugene on Oct. 18.
