Beulah Marie ‘Tootsie’ Craghead

Beulah Marie “Tootsie' Craghead, 88, of Auxvasse passed away at her home on Monday, Oct. 19, 2020.

She was born in Montgomery County on Jan. 5, 1932 to the late Mangus Moore and the late Minnie Bell Price (Brown) Moore.

On March 4, 1960, Tootsie married William L. “Bill” Craghead. He preceded her in death on June 5, 2007.

Tootsie lived her entire life in the Auxvasse area. She was a member of Harmony Baptist Church. Tootsie worked at Florsheim for 28 years and later at Square D, retiring in 1997. Tootsie was a hard worker, moving non-stop and never slowing down. She enjoyed cooking, spending time with children, and rocking babies. Though she only had three biological grandchildren, Tootsie was a surrogate grandmother to many.

Her memory will be cherished by daughter, Melissa Lynn Cashion (Tom); brothers, Richard Moore, and Mangus Moore Jr. (Margaret); sister-in-law, Barbara Moore; grandchildren, Felicia Vest, Heather Cashion, and Jennifer Miles; and great-grandchildren, Laurissa, Landin, Kristina, Bryson, Madilyn, Christian, Zachery, and Melody.

In addition to her parents and husband, Tootsie was preceded in death by brothers, Manley Moore, Leslie Moore, James Moore, and Harold Moore; sisters, Alma Arlene Moore, Ella Mae Beasley, Edna Beasley, and Dorothy Dillard; brothers-in law, Bud Beasley, William Beasley, and Thomas Dillard; and sisters-in-law, Frances Moore, Dorothy Moore, Joyce Moore and Joyce P. Moore.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, Oct. 23 at Maupin Funeral Home in Fulton with Pastors Mike Crowson and Jeremy Polston officiating. Friends will be received from 5:00 pm. until 7 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 22, at the funeral home. Interment will be in Auxvasse Cemetery.
