The Bulldogs took three out of five as a team at the grueling Crossroads Duals in Cameron on Saturday.

In team scores Mexico opened the long day beating Odessa 41-30. Chillicothe edged the Bulldogs in the second dual, 40-38. Not presenting opposition in the 106, 113 and 160 weight classes proved to be the difference.

They took on Savannah in the third round and emerged with a 43-36 victory, before pummeling Plattsburg 48-22.

The hosts proved to be too much for Mexico in the finale, dropping the Bulldogs 58-18.

Keith Ranson, wrestling at 132, had a strong outing. He outscored Odessa’s Shon Badder 6-3, brought down Aidan Zimmerman of Chillicothe by fall, picked up a major decision over Chance Phillips of Savannah and edged Cameron’s Chase Short 4-2.

He was 5-0 with the forfeit in the Plattsburg round.

Terrell Williams also swept in the 152 class, winning four and taking a forfeit. His first two were by falls – 3:23 against Odessa’s Thad Williams and 1:39 when paired against Gauge Chenet of Chillicothe. He then scored a 12-8 decision over Savannah’s Chase Hinton and wrapped things up with a tight 12-11 win over Benton Barton from the host school to go 5-0.

It was the same for Mexico’s 170-pounder, Jokiah Sewell – four wins and a forfeit to make for a 5-0 sweep. He earned a 9-5 decision in the Odessa round then he felled Dawson Sutton at 0:30 when the team met Chillicothe, took Shane Tucker of Savannah at 0:38 and capped it with a 1:04 takedown of Plattsburg’s Jaden Thompson.

At 120 pounds, Ricardo Juarez was looking for a sweep. He won two matches by decision, beat Savannah’s Caden Calloway by fall and picked up a forfeit. Against Cameron, however, he squared off against Ryker Smith, dropping a 12-2 major decision.

Deacon Haag went 4-1, as well, in the 220 weight class. He earned falls over wrestlers from Odessa, Chillicothe and Savannah and took a forfeit. In the final round he came up against Wyatt Burnett of Cameron and battled until the 4:30 mark.

Dylan Mosley (138) opened with a 14-4 major decision over Zane Palmer of Odessa. He earned a technical fall in the Chillicothe round and registered a fall at 2:48 against Lincoln LaFave of Savannah. He couldn’t overcome Plattsburg’s Wyatt Moran, however.

Gavyn Martin captured his first two matches, one by a 9-1 major decision the other by fall. He lost two, but came away with a 3-2 day thanks to a no-show by Plattsburg. Cameron Beasley was 2-3, nabbing a win by fall against Savannah and a forfeit.

Morgan Grubb at 182 came away from the tourney with a 2-3 mark, claiming one of the rare bright spots for Mexico against Cameron when dropped Clayton Kern at 0:59. The Bulldogs’ 285-pounder, Emille Scanavino captured two of his first three matches by fall on his way to a 2-3 outing.

Caleb Prater was 1-4 at 195.
