Miss Springfield’s Outstanding Teen named Miss Missouri’s Outstanding Teen 2017

Miss Springfield's Outstanding Teen Heleena Haberer has a new title - Miss Missouri's Outstanding Teen 2017. The 16-year-old was crowned Friday night on the Miss Missouri stage.

On Wednesday night she was awarded the overall evening gown competition and on-stage interview.

Haberer, daughter of Peggy and Geoffrey Haberer was second runner-up in last year's Miss Missouri's Outstanding Teen. For her talent Friday the new titleholder performed a contemporary dance to "To This Day,"

After she was crowned Haberer said she was so excited she didn't know what to say. "I'm shocked and honored," she said. "It is hard to explain how I feel," she added.

The Branson High School student was awarded a $2,000 scholarship and $500 sponsored by Children's Miracle Network; plus $100 Miss Congeniality Award. She will also have the opportunity to compete in the Miss America's Outstanding Teen this summer.

First runner-up was Miss Greater Springfield's Outstanding Teen Shae Smith. She also received the Children's Miracle Network award; the CMN Miracle Maker award and the Cindy Baker Community Service award.

Second runner-up was Miss Metro St. Louis' Outstanding Teen Addyson Wilgus; third runner-up was Miss Heart of the Ozarks' Outstanding Teen Lauren Vanlandingham; fourth runner-up was Miss Kansas City's Outstanding Teen Kaitlyn Rigdon.

Also chosen in the top 11 finalists were: Miss Heart of St. Louis' Outstanding Teen Leah Forst; Fleur de Lis' Outstanding Teen Jessica Harper; Miss River City's Outstanding Teen Taylor Blackwell; Miss Heartland's Outstanding Teen Audrianna Hebron; Miss Gateway's Outstanding Teen Ashley Whipple who was presented $100 for the Photogenic Award; and Miss Kirksville's Outstanding Teen Demi King.
