Edwin Wilson Wallace, Jr., 91, of Mexico, died Friday, Oct. 20, 2017 at the MO Veterans Home in Mexico.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 1:00 p.m. at Arnold Funeral Home with burial in the MO State Veterans Cemetery in Jacksonville, MO. Visitation is Wednesday from 12 Noon till service time at the funeral home.
Ed was born on Jan. 30, 1926, the son of Edwin Wilson Wallace, Sr. and Addie (Culwell) Wallace.
He was married to Nellie M. Sullivan on Jan. 19, 1957 in Mexico, and she preceded him in death on March 31, 2012.
Ed was a veteran of the U.S. Army and later the Army Air Corp. and a recipient of a Purple Heart.
He retired from A.P. Green Refractories, was a lifetime member of the NRA and the Purple Heart Association.
He is survived by his children; Becky (Charles) James of Eminence, Mary (Joe) Love of Florida, James E. Wallace of Mexico, and Margaret (Doug) Ward of Mexico; 11 grandchildren and 32 great-grandchildren.
In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by two sons; Tony and Kenny Wallace, a granddaughter Theresa Kay Wallace and a brother Laverne "Bud" Wallace.
