Lois Gayle Hamlett, 92, of Mexico, died October 22, 2017, at SSM St Mary’s Hospital Audrain in Mexico, Mo.
She was born December 14, 1924, in Chandler Az, a daughter of Clarence Huber and Mae Olive Martin Sellers. She married her husband of 53 years, Paul Thomas Hamlett, on December 4, 1943, in Culver City, Ca. Paul passed away on March 13, 1997.
Mrs. Hamlett retired from Continental Bag Factory after 25 years of service. She was a beloved, mother, grandmother and GiGi. Her hobbies included quilting, reading, walking, working in her yard, and being a devoted St Louis Cardinal fan.
Gayle is survived by her three daughters, Sherry Meyer (John) Jasper, Ar., Cathy Cooper (Mike Stephens) of Columbia, Mo, and Debbie Alexander of Columbia, Mo.; seven grandchildren, Terry Gourley (Laurie) of Simi Valley, Ca., Todd Gourley (Sherilyn) of Fort Collins, Co., Jennifer Gourley (Brad Hart) of Hermann, Amy Jackmon (John) of Columbia, Mo., Brad Cooper (Robin Pittman) of Columbia, Mo., April Jones of Mexico, Mo., and Cory Alexander of Lee Summit, Mo.; sixteen great-grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; a brother, Jim Sellers of Gila Bend, Az.; numerous nieces and nephews, and Martin Sharp (Sally), the son she never had.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents and her sister, Betty Sayler.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
