Little Dixie Fire Protection District Station 3 was dispatched to structure fire, vehicle fire, natural cover fire, and propane tank fire on Audrain Road 161, north of Sturgeon on the Greg Rush property at 1:38 p.m. Wednesday
According to Chief Ken Hoover, upon arrival firefighters found a house, shed, vehicle and a propane tank and approximately five acres of grassland burning.
The cause of the fire appears to be a spark from the outdoor wood stove. Fire damage was extensive to all above listed items.
Little Dixie units cleared the scene at 4:08 p.m.
Little Dixie Station 3 along with Station 1 and 3 stations from Boone County Fire Protection District responded to the emergency with a total of 15 firefighters and seven pieces of fire apparatus.
According to Hoover there were no other damage or injuries.
At 10 p.m. Wednesday, Little Dixie Fire Protection District Station 4 was dispatched to a structure fire on Audrain Road 945, west of Mexico on the Dana Hinton property.
According Hoover, upon arrival firefighters found a residential structure burning with about 30 percent involvement in the attic area.
According to the release, the cause of the fire is undetermined at this time. Fire damage was moderate to the entire structure.
Little Dixie units cleared the scene at 12:35 a.m. Thursday.
Little Dixie Stations 4, 3 and 1 responded to the emergency with 20 firefighters and five pieces of fire apparatus.
There were no other damage or injuries, according to the news release.
