Little Dixie Fire Protection District Station 1 was dispatched to a natural cover fire on Highway FF, west of Mexico, Missouri at 12:48 p.m. Saturday. The owner of the property is Charles Hall Sr. Nancy LeBrun lives on the property.
Upon arrival fire fighters found approximated one- acre of tall grass burning.
According to Little Dixie report, the cause of the fire started from a pile of discarded wood stove ashes from several days earlier.
Fire damage was limited to the grass area.
Little Dixie units cleared the scene at 1:45 p.m.
Little Dixie Station 1 responded to the emergency with a total of eight irefighters and two pieces of fire apparatus.
There were no other damage or injuries.
