The Missouri Military Academy in Mexico will host a commencement ceremony for the class of 2018 at 10 a.m. on May 26. The ceremony, celebrating the graduation of 59 cadets, will be held in Centennial Gymtorium on the MMA campus.

“We are proud of their achievements -- earning more than $6.5 million in scholarships, with 100 percent of the class accepted to college -- and we look forward to seeing the success that lies ahead for them,” said MMA President Tony McGeorge.

Maj. Gen. Stephen L. Danner will give the commencement speech at the ceremony. Danner served in the U.S. Army as a combat engineer and the Missouri National Guard as a member of the Judge Advocate Generals Corps, among other assignments.

Graduates of the academy will be going on to attend the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy, Penn State University and the Los Angeles Film School, to name a few.

A senior review will take place on Colonel’s Field following the ceremony. The final formation will occur at 11:45 a.m. in the front campus. In addition to the ceremony, cadets are invited to participate in baccalaureate services in Memorial Chapel at 6:30 p.m. on Friday, May 25.

Other commencement week activities include the All Corps Cookout (sponsored by the Parents Committee) and Jazz on the Lake on Saturday, May 19, as well as company competitive drills and a senior banquet on Friday, May 25.
