Sometimes the hardest lessons are learned in the hardest placest, so after spending last Saturday in Columbia at the varsity only Hickman Tournament, the Mexico volleyball program got back to business as usual on Monday by taking all three of its team to Centralia for a non-league matchup.

Considering what comes after this for the Lady Bulldogs is three straight North Central Missouri Conference contests, the team was certainly hoping to come out of this with momentum on their side.

But, as secretive as Lady Panthers head coach Sofia Ivanovic might be regarding her team there's no way this team isn't going to be working hard for all the same reasons, creating matchups up and down the board that were well played, yet somehow Mexico lost in three sets in each of them.

"All three teams were also winning most of the sets. At this point, we are competing and battling for points, which is awesome. We just have to figure out a way to finish," said coach Shayla Cox. "It’s good to see the improvements that we have made over the years, but we are not going to stop there. We are going to continue to seek improvement each day, whether on the court, in the classroom and in life. We head to Hannibal Thursday."

The Lady Bulldogs host Fulton on Monday and are at Kirksville on Sept. 18.
