Fresh off winning his second Class 2 state wrestling title in as many years, Mexico High School senior Dillon Nichols, who has verbally committed to attend Northern Illinois University next year, already has another major challenge lined up for himself between now and then.
Not one for complacency, Nichols will be competing at the Missouri Border Brawl: Battle For Missouri on Mar. 17 at 3 p.m. at Union Station in Kansas City against Kyle Prewitt of Class 4 Christian Brothers College. Prewitt was also a multi-time state qualifier and 2019 Missouri state titlist according to the Missouri Border Brawl Facebook page.
Also competing at this event according to teamusa.org will be former University of Missouri wrestlers Joe Colon, Lavion Mayes, Joey Lavallee and J'den Cox. Ultimate Fighting Championships welterweight champion and former Mizzou Tiger Tyron Woodley is also scheduled to appear, former UFC heavyweight champion Randy Couture will serve as the Master of Ceremonies and proceeds will go to the Xtreme Couture GI Foundation for wounded armed forces veterans.
