In North Central Missouri Conference competition last Thursday at home against Hannibal, 13-3 overall, the Mexico varsity girls soccer team thought it was going to find itself in a rather evenly matched affair.

Instead, this bout turned out to be anything but as the Lady Bulldogs were off their game from the start and just never found a way to recover. Because of that, what came next was a long, hard night filled with plenty of life lessons and an especially painful ending that looked like 13-0 on the scoreboard according to the Missouri High School Activities Association website, but probably felt worse.

Mexico, 4-13-2 overall, is at Moberly today in league action and on Tuesday the team is at Southern Boone in non-conference action.
