The Centralia varsity baseball game against the Missouri Military Academy last Thursday was cancelled according to the Centralia Panthers Baseball Facebook page. No new date has been mentioned as of yet and because it's not a conference game and the end of the schedule is near it may not be rescheduled.

Once the regular season winds down the Missouri Military Academy, 1-8 overall, will be competing at South Callaway Class 3, District 8, beginning May 10 against North Callaway, 8-13 overall. The winner will then advance to play Hallsville, 8-7 overall, on May 13 at 6:30 p.m.

Father Tolton, 6-12 overall, will also commence the second season that same day verses New Bloomfield, 4-16, and which ever team is still alive after this head-to-head matchup gets to face the host Bulldogs, 18-8 overall, on May 13 at 5:00 p.m. From there the two remaining squads will play one another for the district championship the next day at 5:00 p.m.

The Panthers, 9-3 overall, path through the postseason is even harder and starts as a fourth-seed against fifth-seed Marshall, 14-5 overall, on May 11 at 10:30 a.m. The victor then has the unenviable task of trying to slay the beast otherwise known as top-seeded Helias, 13-3 overall, on May 13 at 5:00 p.m.

Second-ranked Boonville, 12-8 overall, will also compete against Moberly, 4-10 overall, on May 11 at 12:45 p.m., as will third-ranked Southern Boone, 13-5 overall, and sixth-ranked Fulton, 7-12 overall, on May 11 at 3:00 p.m. All that leaves is the title game on May 14 at 5:00 p.m.

North Callaway next hosts New Bloomfield on Tuesday in a non-league game.

Centralia welcomes Hallsville today in non-conference competition.
