District draws not the exact same across the board

Even though area teams like North Callaway and Community R-6 did play and advance in the initial round of districts last week while other local squads such as Van-Far, Centralia and the Missouri Military Academy had their seasons cut short, some programs didn't even take the field until Monday.

Among them were sixth-seed Mexico, 9-13 overall, at Class 4, District 8, against third-seed Wright City , 13-10 overall, at Winfield.

Second-seeded Montgomery County, 12-8 overall, also played Monday in round one of Class 3, District 6, at Lutheran North against seventh-seeded North Technical, 1-8 overall.

As for Class 2, District 13, even though number-four Van-Far, 3-12 overall, did fall 13-9 to fifth-seed Louisana, 5-11 overall, in the opening round, second-seeded Paris, 6-5 overall, didn't take the diamond until Monday against third-seeded Clopton, 6-6 overall. In round one the Hawks beat number six Mark Twain 8-4.
