Bring questions to tryouts

The Mexico Lady Rookies 10U Softball Team will hold tryouts for the 2019-20 fall/spring season, which will consist of league play in Columbia with possible tournaments in St. Louis, Kansas City and Hannibal, on Aug. 4 at 10:00 a.m. on Optimist Field number two. Would like to get it filled up fast

On July 29th at 6:00 p.m. on Optimist Field number two the Mexico Rookies 11U Baseball Team will hold tryouts for the spring 2020 season. That will consist of league play in Columbia with five tourneys in Kansas City, Jefferson City, St. Louis and Columbia. Athletes are required to register before tryouts. Community Organization

The Little Dixie Shrine Club, 23847 Highway J, Mexico, MO., 65265, is holding an Adult Kickball Tournament on July 27 from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. This event is for individuals 16 and older, this is the first time for this event and while players are allowed to bring their own beverages, they're also asked to be responsible. Still working out places

On Aug. 3 Tj's Roadhouse, 112 s. Jefferson, Mexico, MO., 65265, is hosting a Benefit and Bike Run for JoJo that starts with a poker run from 10:00 a.m.- 11:00 a.m. Cost is $10 a person, the event will end at Tj's at 5 p.m. and food will follow. Details: 573-567-9111.

 

Enter one or all events

Food will be provided, individuals can bring their own drinks and kids will have playground access at Kickball, Horseshoes and Volleyball on Sept. 28 hosted by the Little Dixie Shrine Club, 23847 Hwy J, PO Box 162, Mexico, MO., 65265. Benefitting Coaches vs Cancer

This years Norm Stewart Classic, which runs for 48 straight hours and rotates between boys and girls varsity basketball games to raise money to fight disease, is moving to Mizzou Arena on the campus of the University of Missouri. The event was previously held at Columbia College at the Southwell Complex.

 

Another change of venue

The Seventh Annual Missouri vs Illinois All-Star Baseball Game on July 13 at 7:00 p.m. has been forced to once again change venues. Now the contest is taking place at Veterans Elementary School, 790 Veterans Rd., Hannibal, MO., 63401. Area players in this game include Centralia's Gus Stidham, Caden Vanskike, William Rolfson and Evan Stidham, Van-Far's Logan Wilson and Paris' Adam Forrest. Bring Candy and Help us

All Montgomery County youth football players are reminded that the fair is next week and they are all welcome to walk in the parade. Those same individuals are also being asked to stay and help with the Punt, Pass and Kick competition that follows.

Heritage Hills Golf Course, 3534 Highway JJ, Moberly, 65270, is hosting a Two-Lady Golf Scramble on Aug. 3 from 7:45 a.m.- 2:45 p.m. Cost is $80 per team and includes cart and light lunch afterwards, tee time is 8:30 a.m. and the entry deadline is July 30.
