The Mexico Golf Organization will be organizing and operating the Bulldog Classic on July 20 at the Oaks in Mexico to benefit Mexico High School boys and girls golf programs and the Bulldog Classic Scholarship Fund. The format is a four-person scramble with registration starting at 8:30 a.m. and the action commencing at 9:30 a.m. with a shotgun start. Cost is $400 per team and that includes everything but drinks, such as mulligans, skirts, skins and multi-pins.

There will be two flights with three places per flight. The top spot will win$700, second place gets $500 and third earns $300. There will also be various hole-in-one contests, closest to the pin contests and a putting contest. Details: 573-581-4296.

On Aug. 3 Centralia Parks and Recreation is hosting the first ever Anchor City Triathlon featuring a Super Sprint Division for younger, less experienced athletes and a Sprint Division meant for more experienced individuals. The Super Sprint Division include a distance of 150 yard in swimming, 6.3 miles for bike riding and a 1.2 mile run. For the Sprint Race those numbers include a 250 yard swim, a 14.6 mile bike ride and a 3.1 mile run. Registration is done only through

Summer is moving right along

The Montgomery County Wildcats Youth Football Parade is today. Participants are asked to meet behind Bratcher's Market at 6:15 p.m. wearing last years jerseys if they still fit. If not wear something related to MOCO for the purpose of walking with the middle and high school athletes. Individuals are asked to bring a bag of candy, but not required. Once the parade is complete there will be a punt, pass and kick competition for kids ages 6-13 in the rodeo arena and registration is still open.

The Centralia Friends of the Park will be organizing and operating the Second Annual Powerhouse Panthers Back to the Blue 5K on Aug. 3. Register by July 17 and enter the code FAMILY to receive $10 off of your family registration. Register by July 18 to guarantee a t-shirt.
