Audrain Medical Society holds summer meeting

Audrain Medical Society held its summer meeting in June with Clark Andelin calling the meeting to order.

Pediatrician Ahmad Muraywid, who retired from his practice, was honored by members. He spoke about his career, where he stressed that kindness is an important virtue to practice. He received a standing ovation from his remarks.

Raymond Wilbers was selected as the society's president and Steve Taylor was selected as secretary/treasurer.

The next meeting is 6:30 p.m. Sept. 17 at Brick City Buffet and Grill. It was previously reported for 5:30 p.m. The Ledger regrets the error. Entertainment at the end of the meeting will be provided by Scott Webber. Meetings will return to their regular schedule of the third Tuesday of each month.

Seniors hold carry-in dinner

A carry-in dinner for seniors was sponsored Aug. 19 by Friendship Baptist Church.

The prayer was offered by Chuck "Bud" Mayes. Those attending were Harold and Carolyn Van Sickle, Jesse and Alice Edwards, Pat Taylor, Jerry Wyss, Janet Carson, Karen Wehrman, Nancy Wyss and Patricia Mayes.

Gerald Taylor celebrated and August birthday. The next carry-in dinner is 6 p.m. Monday in the Friendship Baptist Church dining hall. All seniors are welcomed.
