The U.S. Department of Agriculture's National Agricultural Statistics Service will measure sheep, goat and cattle operations.

Surveys on sheep and goat operations will happen this month and focus on sheep and goat inventories, including lambs and kids. Wool and mohair production also will be tallied. More than 500 operators will be surveyed on their 2019 numbers. Sheep and goat survey data will be released Jan. 31.

NASS will survey 1,500 cattle operation in Missouri the first two weeks of January. Producers will have an opportunity to report beef and dairy cattle inventories, calf crop, death loss and cattle-on-feed inventory. The cattle report also will be released Jan. 31.
