Family and friends are invited to come celebrate the life of Gayle Hamlett at Lakeview Shelter in Mexico on Saturday, May 12, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. Bring your lawn chairs and join us in remembering this sweet lady.

Lois Gayle Hamlett, 92, of Mexico, died October 22, 2017 at SSM St. Mary’s Hospital-Audrain in Mexico.

She was born December 14, 1924 in Chandler, Az., a daughter of Clarence Huber and Mae Olive Martin Sellers. She married her husband of 53 years, Paul Thomas Hamlett, on December 4, 1943 in Culver City, Ca. Paul passed away on March 13, 1997.

Mrs. Hamlett retired from Continental Bag Factory after 25 years of service. She was a beloved mother, grandmother, and GiGi. Her hobbies included quilting, reading, walking, working in the yard, and being a devoted St. Louis Cardinal fan.

Gayle is survived by her three daughters, Sherry Meyer (John) of Jasper, Ark., Cathy Cooper (Mike Stephens) of Columbia, and Debbie Alexander of Columbia; seven grandchildren, Terry Gourley (Laurie) of Simi Valley, Ca., Todd Gourley (Sherilyn) of Fort Collins, Co., Jennifer Gourley (Brad Hart) of Hermann, Amy Jackson (John) of Columbia, Brad Cooper (Robin Pittman) of Columbia, April Jones of Mexico, and Cory Alexander of Lees Summit; 16 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild; a brother, Jim Sellers of Gila Bend, Az.; numerous nieces and nephews; and Martin Sharp (Sally), her honorary son.

In addition to her husband, Gayle was preceded in death by her parents and her sister, Betty Sayler.
