Reubelene “Ruby” Cope Blaisdell, nee Dillion, 97, Mexico, Mo., passed away Saturday, Feb. 16, 2019, at Pin Oak Nursing Home, Mexico, Mo. Ruby was born Sept. 27, 1921, in Middletown, the daughter of Reuben Dillion and wife Coral. She was married to George Thomas Cope Sept. 9, 1939. They enjoyed 36 years of marriage before George passed away at 62. Ruby married Worthy Blaisdell Dec. 23, 1977. They were happily married for 23 years. Ruby and Worthy enjoyed playing golf every day, going fishing, and dancing and playing cards. They both worked at the military academy in Mexico, Mo., for quite a few years. The couple enjoyed a very active life until Worthy passed away May 16, 2000. Ruby kept herself busy gardening, playing her organ and singing, playing cards and going to the senior center in Mexico, Mo., daily.

After a bad fall where she broke several ribs, Ruby moved in with her middle daughter, Rita, for two years. Eventually she was moved to Pin Oak Nursing Home. Ruby was born 9/27/1921, and amazingly passed away at 9:27 p.m. She is survived by her five daughters, Delores June (Donald) Boone, Wanda Ruth (Donald) Jordan, Rita Faye Benskin, Reba Kay (Bill) McCollum and Donna Sue (Neal) Toedebusch; 15 grandchildren, Kathy Boone, Cheryl Bass, Susan Jordan, Stacy Hager, Richard Boone, Thomas Boone, Terry Jordan, Daniel Jordan, Timothy Jordan, Clint Benskin, Chad Benskin, Jason Mulligan, Jared Mulligan, Ken Toedebusch and Randy Toedebusch; and many great-grandchildren and great great-grandchildren. Ruby was preceded in death by her first husband, George Thomas Cope; second husband, Worthy Blaisdell; father, Reuben Dillion; mother, Coral Dillion; and son-in-law, Alfred Benskin.

Visitation will be held Saturday, Feb. 23, from noon to 3 p.m. at Pitman Funeral Home, 904 S. Highway 47, Warrenton.
